What if you didn’t have to be afraid of a broken heart?

Life can break us.

We lose people we love. We're disappointed, betrayed, misunderstood, and wounded. We face circumstances out of our control and losses we can't undo.

It's impossible to live without suffering, but we can learn how to suffer without losing heart.

I'm learning that resilience isn’t always strength. Sometimes it's sitting with what hurts instead of running from it, telling the truth about our sorrow, letting ourselves grieve, opening the places we would rather protect and inviting Christ into them. It's learning to trust that even here...He is with us.

When we willingly open our hearts to God in the midst of suffering, the ashes can become fertile ground for something new...compassion, courage, joy, love, and peace.

Not because the suffering doesn't matter...because it truly does.

This is Rebel Hearts. A place for women who have been wounded by life but refuse to let their wounds have the final say.

I'll be sharing what I’m learning about suffering, healing, faith, resilience, and becoming fully alive again, especially on the days when I don’t feel resilient at all.

I don't know exactly how often I'll write, but when I have something worth sharing, I’d love to share it with you.

I hope you'll come with me.
